Customized Care Plans for Busy Executives

Helping you mange caregiving and work responsibilities to:

    • Manage eldercare crises when they arise to reduce disruptions
    • Proactively plan for eldercare to minimize workplace distractions.

You are already experiencing caregiving issues within the work place. Did you know?

    • 50% of caregivers who work outside the home indicate that the care has affected their work. Family caregivers often need to take time off work, some quit their jobs and others don’t accept promotions that require travel or long hours away from home.
    • Caregivers spend on average over 20 hours per month caring for elderly family members.
    • For women aged 45 and over who informally provided care, these numbers rose from 18% in 2002 to 22% in 2007.
    • Just over one caregiver in five lives more than one hour away from the care recipient (note: 61% of persons living more than a half day’s journey from the care receiver had a university education, compared to 28% of persons living in the same neighbourhood. Amongst caregivers living further away, 64% had a household income of over $80,000.)
    • Baby boomers tend to have smaller families than their parents, geographic distance may become a more important barrier in the coming years, when baby boomers grow old and require care themselves.
    • The workforce 55 years and older is expected to increase from 17 per cent in 2006 to nearly 23 per cent by 2016.
    • As the workforce ages, employers are looking for proactive strategies to keep older employees engaged, keep low risk employees from becoming high risk, and manage healthcare costs. Diseases – including heart disease, cancer, diabetes, mental health, chronic back pain, and arthritis – represent the majority of the health cost pressures employers are likely to face over the next two decades.
